MILLVILLE – Local small business entrepreneurs shared their stories and some of their products at the Winter Network Mixer sponsored by the nonprofit Positive Vibes and AC Network at the Sea of the Soul Restaurant near downtown Millville.
J.T. Burks, of Positive Vibes and David Mitchell, of AC Network organized the event to target small, underserved businesses through Cumberland and Atlantic counties in an effort of bringing them together and positioning them for greater successes in the near and long-range future.
Local entrepreneur and Positive Vibes Vice President Levi Feeney served as emcee. Millville City Commissioners-elect Lisa Orndorf and Joseph Sooy also talked with business owners.
The atmosphere was highlighted by outstanding appetizers provided by the Fowler family that included fish, fried chicken, beans and rice, and green beans.
Some talked about upcoming events. Rich Burton urged guests to attend the Drippy Ricky's Fashion Showcase Gala, Dec. 11 at the Cornbread House at 1167 Bridgeton-Millville Pike. Dyron Corley, a local school board member and educator, talked about his interactive workshops preparing students for college along with his work as a life coach and consultant.
Some of the businesses and entrepreneurs attending included:
*Brandon Blout, Graphic Tee-Signers
*Aquarius Foster, Elderly Luv
*Quaner Fowler, addressed Cryptocurrencies
*Dorian Gilmer, Atlantic City Mardi Gras at Showboat Hotel
*Tracey L. Harris, Better Homes Real Estate
*Shakeem Hill, The Power House Life Coaching
*Eugene Kelley, Keller Williams Realty
*Bobby Nichols, BJ Tours
*Hasaan Nicholson, Keller Williams Realty
There were presentations made and several calls to actions for the small business community to come together and help lift each other up. There was a general consensus for more events like this one on the future.
